The Human Rights Centre of the United Nations mandated University for Peace (UPEACE) is offering four new specialized online courses from July to October, 2014, on important topics related to protection of human rights. Please click on the titles below for more information about these courses.
- Sexual Exploitation of Children (2 July – 12 August) Instructor: Dr. Geeta Sekhon
- Human Rights and Alternative Dispute Resolution (30 July – 9 September) Instructor: Dr. Alexandru Balas
- Trafficking in Persons (27 August – 7 October) Instructor: Dr. Geeta Sekhon
- Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (3 September – 14 October) Instructor: Prof. Mihir Kanade
These six weeks long certificate courses are aimed at professionals working with the United Nations and its specialized agencies, government officials, NGO staff, development workers, human rights advocates, academics and students. Courses can also be audited or taken for 2 Masters level academic credits recognized by UPEACE. Applications are limited to 25 participants for each course. Seats are filling up quickly, only about 10 seats left in each course.
