CGNK’s UN Representative in Geneva Christophe Barbey addressed the 43rd Regular Session of the Human Rights Council on March 9, 2020, during the Interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Christophe Barbey issued a deeply heartfelt statement calling for humane solutions in North Korea in the face a low crop harvest last year making undernourished people all the more vulnerable to the covid-19 epidemic.

Nonkilling and protecting the life of each and all supersedes unresolved wars, national pride and any type of political regime. It is with our sensitive intelligence and our good-hearted nature that we will protect and enhance all lives. To do so, prevention shall prevail!
